Beth Anne Fisher
Born June 2nd 1981 to Michael and Debra Fisher, Elizabeth Anne Fisher was a happy child from the start. With two older sisters to play with and look up to (the oldest who dubbed her Beth from the start) and a doting mother and father things were sunny for the infant her first few years of life. That was until her younger brother Drew was born. At first toddler Beth didn’t particularly care for the crying baby her parents brought home from the hospital and she spent a good six months informing everyone that Drew was “too stinky” to like at all.
Or at least that’s the story her parents tell her. Beth of course doesn’t remember much of that. Her earliest memory of Drew was him saying his first word after Mama and that was Beth. She decided then and there to adore her baby brother like everyone else did and that’s something she never backed down from.
Growing up in the Fisher family was idyllic enough for Beth, she had older sisters to go to for advice and to clear the way for her in school and a younger brother to alternately tease and dote on. The fact that she was the closest in age to Drew led to a close relationship for the two that lasts till the day. Childhood led to being a teenager and high school was fairly easy for Beth. She strove hard to get good grades, became a cheerleader and served on the student council. She also met Keith Carmichael her junior year of high school. Keith was a basketball player and all around good guy and it didn’t take long for Beth to be swept off her feet by the handsome boy.
Keith proposed valentine’s day of their senior year of high school and the two were both accepted to the University of San Francisco. The couple wed the June after they graduated high school and moved to San Francisco to attend college. Keith was studying to be an architect and Beth had plans to become a high school English teacher.
While College life was fairly normal the fact that the two were left out of numerous things their fellow students were doing because they had married so young was not something that was lost on Keith and it caused many fights between the two. Beth turned to her school work, concentrating on getting the best grades possible so she wouldn’t have to deal with the problems with Keith and Keith turned to partying with whatever friends he could find to avoid being home. Their marriage was crumbling and Beth knew it but she chose to ignore it, to hide it from family and friends and at family gatherings the two appeared the picture perfect couple they had been in high school.
College graduation came and went and a new set of challenges came along with it. Keith had to find a job and Beth still had student teaching and credentials to achieve. They lucked out when Keith found a job not a month after graduation and gradually worked his way up the pay scale while Beth finished her schooling.
Things were going well monetarily for the two even if emotionally they remained more distant than ever, both too stubborn to admit their marriage was a failure and that they their families had been right when they’d been worried that they were rushing into it. After Beth finished her credentials she made a choice, they both did. In a last ditch effort to try and make their marriage what they had both imagined it to be they both agreed to try for a child and in February of 2005 Brittany Marie Carmichael was born. Sadly her birth was not the remedy either Keith or Beth had hoped for.
They were preparing for Brittany’s first birthday when Keith decided that fatherhood and family was not what he was cut out for and he announced he was taking a job back east and filing for divorce. Beth had no choice but to admit defeat and agree to it. She didn’t want to raise their daughter in the chaos that their home was turning out to be.
The divorce was amicable enough and Beth now resides in the Noa Valley area of San Francisco. She teaches 11th grade English and has her hands full with now five year old Brittany. Keith is rarely in contact save his child support payments and Beth is okay with that. She’d rather raise Brittany and try to enjoy her little girl than deal with any tumultuous relationship.
Personality
Beth could be described as a sweet and easy going woman. It takes a lot to get her ruffled and she’d rather kill someone with kindness than fight with them. She has a tendency to hold her temper in until the last minute though so when she does get mad it’s a rage that her sisters and brother know to stay clear of. She can be flirtatious when she wants to be but chooses usually to simply aim at friendly when speaking with people. She’s a multi-tasker and a very goal orientated person. She’d rather work hard for something than get it handed to her . Beth holds her family over all priorities in her life and would do anything for any of her siblings or her parents and she’d of course for Brittany. Beth is a problem solver and is the go-to person to get things done. She rarely says no to people and is a pleaser to no end. She likes to cook although she doesn’t have the talent for it that her brother does and she loves to read which is something she hopes to pass on to Brittany someday.
